tooltips.js error: "$F is not defined"

Post by pancake »

The tooltips worked fine. Somehow it stops working. Error Console in FireFox reports the following errors whenever mouse hovers around the page:
"$F is not defined"
"_TtSo is not defined"
"_Tgm is not defined"
Any clue on what might cause the problem? Thanks.

Hi,

No, not without a website to check what's happening.

At a long shot guess - if you've recently updated the menu codes files but not the tooltips.js file then this could be the problem.

Again, without a URL we cannot really tell

The link is
https://www.lind-waldock.com/vquotes/vq_delayquotes.cgi
The tooltip is linked with the product names.

Thanks.

I'm having trouble seeing the error or the tooltips now - have you removed them?

The tooltips are not working. It used to work.
InternetExplorer does not show any meaningful error message. But FireFox points to tooltips.js.
Thanks.

Hi,

I can't find tooltips.js called on the page. Also, you are downlevel on the menu. The current version is 5.766

I did try to add tooltip.js on the webpage. But the browser reports the same error. Is there any requirement on where to put the script?
The webpage uses showtip and hidetip methods.
Thanks.

Hi,

You are going to have to upgrade to the newest version of the menu before I can help because changes have been made and I have no idea what the differences are or any way to know what the problem might be with a version that old. It looks like you have a licensed version so all you have to do is log in under whatever name you had when you got the menu originally on the main site and download the newest version. When you are logged in and go to the download it should provide you with your licensed version of the menu.

Once you have it and unzip the file [make sure you don't over write your existing files, you always want to keep them as backup just in case] once you have it unzipped, make sure you're old base files are backed up someplace, that's the milonic_src.js, mmenudom.js and mmenuns4.js files.

Get the newest version of the tooltips, it's about half way down.

http://milonic.com/menumodules.php

Then upload the 3 base files and the tooltips file. You'll need to put the call for the tooltips on the page. Once you have that we can see what the problem is.
