Not linking the top tab?

Is there anyway I can have the tabs on the top line of the menu not link to a page?

The client I am adding this menu for does not want the top tabs to link to anything. Help needed ASAP please.

Just to make it a tad clearer I mean a way to null and void the alternative link field.

If you use "#" as the link this will be the equvalent of null.
