I am trying to set a specific menu item property according to a general one
(the idea is to have an option "selected" on startup)
the options below (or combination with javascript)do not work..
. aI("text=Geral;bgimage=`javascript:_m[getMenuByName('main_menu')][6].pagebgimage`;")
. aI("text=Geral;bgimage=_m[_mi[0][0]][6].pagebgimage;")
is it possible? how?

You are going to have to contact Milonic about how to do it. There isn't anyone on the board anymore who knows js and works with functions for the menu. I think I gave you a link to the demos page, but just in case I didn't, I'll post it again. There are some functions created for things like changing a menu property or changing an item property and maybe they will give you some ideas.
