Menu on top of Flash

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

Menu on top of Flash

Post by webline »

Hi,

I've got a frames based menu running at http://www.webline-designs.com/projects/webline2. I've had a few problems with it, but most have been resolved thanks to help on this board.

A new one that cropped up is that a couple of the menus when they drop down, overlap a flash animation on the home page. When they do, you can't see any of the menu options. Is there a way to force them to appear over the flash?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi,

For Iexplorer it should work when adding :

Code: Select all

<object classid="........
       <param name="wmode" value="transparent">
</object>
to the html-code.

Netscape can't do this !!

Flash fix

Post by webline »

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion locally (not at the url above) and it did not work for IE on a Mac. I haven't done a thorough cataloging of the problem yet. It seems to occur on some browsers on some OSs, but not on all. I do know that it is not working on IE 5.x and Netscape 7.x on a Mac.

Thanks anyway,
Steve

Transparent Flash

Post by mrcd »

That fix along with the many posted on this board seems to work for IE. I am using FrontPage2002 and simply made my movie and tag lines transparent.

However, Netscape, Mozilla and Opera still have the menu going behind.

I hope Macromedia puts a fix on this. But the solution did seem to work just fine for IE 6.0SP1 on Windows XP.
