The problem occurs when using Netscape 4.x and Mac OS 9 with the new menu. The page continually refreshes and tries to redraw the page anytime the page has a scrollbar. It seems to be the same issue as an earlier thread: http://milonic.com/menu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2166
You can see the problem when going to Milonic's RC5 page. Version 3 worked fine, it's only in the new versions. I understand that this is an old browser, but our school district still has a lot of machines like this . Thanks for your help in advance. Great forum!!
I understand your problem with old browsers. As you can see below, I work for a university and have the same battle on a daily basis - my boss wants 4.x supported, and I say it's way too old. To me, it's the same mentality as the folks who refuse to update their virus software and system patches, and then complain when they get nailed by a worm. No sympathy here.
Unfortunately I can't help your problem, as I don't have anything that old installed...
Until you get better saturation of newer browsers, you probably should stick with the older version of the menu if it was working for you. Or put a browser check into your pages so that if you detect a lower end broswer you only render the v3. Its an . Remember, to get the bigger and badder toys you need to upgrade your systems to handle 'em.
