License Number in milonic_src.js

Post by jptilkes »

I just discovered two variables in milonic_src.js that I didn't know existed.

When I downloaded 5.10 and tried to use it on my site it errored out and the menu would not display.
I discovered that the variable 'licenseNumber' was not set to anything. When looking at 5.09 it was set to 0. After setting this variable to 0 5.10 works fine.

Should I be setting this value to my license number? If so, would their be a way to do it such that I can use the same files on multiple site (multiple licenses) I have a directory on by webserver that multiple sites use via virtual directories to load the menu code (I do own multiple licenses so I am legal)

Thanks

Nothing within the code itself needs to be (or should be) touched! Both of the variables in the code, and also the 'License Number:' area in the comments section, are now filled in automatically when you download the menu.

Andy will have to answer your second question.

The only thing I have ever changed in the code was to set this value to 0. I just downloaded the files again and my license numbers were not filled in automatically. It simply said unlicensed, the licenseNumber variable was now set to 0 however.

Again, messing with the code, however small, is not good. Andy has made some changes in how this works recently and we'll need to wait for his answer.

Interesting. I downloaded earlier this morning and everything was already filled in - comment and variables.

Are you sure you were logged in when you downloaded the code.

Unless perhaps the system was confused by having multiple licenses :?:

Looks like its something Andy has to look at, send him an email if he doesn't look here first.

If you're logged in properly on the main site and recognized by the system you will see the following directly below the download links...
Please note: You have a valid support contract and the download will NOT contain a forced link back to Milonic
If you do NOT see that there is a problem with your login, and the forced link version will be sent.

I DID see that line and I DID get the licensed version. It simply stated unlisensed in the code. I DO NOT recieve the forced link.

Everything works for me now the way I expect. Although you stated that the license numbers would prefill for me and they do not.

Thanks
