Version 5.50 problem.

Post by MMWebmaster »

I'm not sure what the problem is...

I had Version... 5.32... i think... and everythign was fine...

Then I updated to 5.50 and tore down my old layout and put up this new one (which was fine before), then i put up 5.32 again and this error came back... i'm not sure what happened...

The problem is that... when your on a page (like the main index) the link in the menu... isn't there. When you hover over it, then it'll show up, but not when it's dormant... Is it linked to the CSS? If it was it would show as white, or blue... but it's just invisible..

the link is: http://mm.intellstat.com (i hope it's ok to link).

I can link u to all menu data and the CSS but i dunno what this is... or why... it was fine but now both 5.32 and 5.50 do this...

If that is your main page, the Home page, then it's because you have pagecolor="white"; So, since you are on that page the text turns white. If you want the page highlighting to work, showing the text as white then I'd make the pagebgcolor a darker color than the rest of the menu. Then when you're on the pages they will all take the pagebgcolor and the pagecolor so people know where they are. If you want the pagebgcolor to remain the same as the menu but the text to change you'd need to change the pagecolor to something other than white. If you don't want to use that feature, just delete it from the coding.

Always stick with the most current version (now 5.51, BTW). It's the only version we can support.

Too many versions. I'm sticking with 5.50 until I release my newest layout, if I stayed with every current one then i'd be updating my menu more then my site.

Thanks for your help I'll try that out ^.^

Oh and I dunno about 5.50 but only IE6 (dunno about 5 and 5.5) supports the opaque (see-through) menu. Mozilla based browsers, netscape and Opera do not (all latest versions).

Didn't know if you knew.

Well, I gotta say this, but I just dunno what's so tough about uploading 3 little files to the server. Or do you just prefer not having the latest bug fixes, enhancements, new features, support, etc.?
