Frames options?

Post by frederth »

I am hosting a site with frames. That is how it was when I took it over. I am not fixed on it but am at a loss as to whether to keep it or change it to no frames. I have a beta version of the site posted at:

http://www.salineschools.com/users/frederth/shsmensxc/

(I know...it needs a lot to be desired...I'm working on the details)

The current site is at:

http://salinehornets.com/mensxc/

If I use the frames code from Milonic can I still do all the other cool things that I see in other menus (images, backgrounds, seperators, etc...) or am I limited to just the generic frames code with text and basic functions?

Also, on my beta version, the menus open up behind the flash image. Can I get it to show in front?

Thanks.

Hi

There is a sample on this issue

http://milonic.com/menusample14.php

(Menus Over Form Selects, Flash and Java Applets).
Your main question:
can I still do all the other cool things that I see in other menus (images, backgrounds, seperators, etc...)
Answer: Yes, you can. The appearance of a menu depends on style and css settings, and the use of images. And all this is possible with frames too, whereas the use of frames is not really recommendable due to other (html) reasons. An alternative are iframes, if it is not possible to abstain from frames.
