Please Help Big Time!

Post by ant_inmypant »

I am working on a complex site.

I want to modify menu, so that when I CLICK on a particular menu item, it change color; ALSO submenu remain visible as long as I donot click on other menu item. Also current "visiting "menu item remain of different color, because once we click, page get refreshed and all previous settings are lost. All that said, it is to keep user informed there location using the menu, as a efficient tool.

Mainly for horizontal menus.

I know it is simple but I am not sure how to use "click" function. Please guide. Any examples???

Thanks

Hi,

You can use clickcolor, clickbgcolor, clickimage and so on. Or you can use the page properties which are the menu 'highlighting' to show where someone is. And, you can use the openmenusbyurl.js module to have the related submenu open when the url matches the page on which the person is.

Below my name are links to various properties. Try the style property link. The different properties are alphabetized and most have explanations. Most style properties [though not all] can be either a style or an item property, that is used in a style which applies to any menu using that style, or in one item which applies only to that item. Try the click properties and then go to the page properties, pagebgcolor, pagecolor, pageimage, and so on.

The openmenusbyurl.js module is located at the bolt-on modules page down toward the bottom, Automatic Menu Opening Module
