Great analogy, John. :)

And also, great work on the menu. When something works well, recognition is important for those that put it together.

I had done my share of asking questions on this forum, and when I saw the final version work so well, I just figured it was about time I thanked someone ...

Wow! Final 5.03 is fast!

Hey Andy & team,

Just wanted to let you know that I just upgraded to the final version, and it is extremely fast!

You may remember my various problems from the pre-releases: I had tons of data to get into the menu...IE 6 used to load it in about 30 seconds on my XP 2.4 ghz machine, and over a ...

Hmm...still no luck with the bgimage setting...

Has it been removed. I see it on the list of style properties, but there are no comments for it all.

It used to work just fine.

Thanks,

Can't answer why things would be changing (are you saying that colors, etc., are being changed in your _data file?)

Forgot to discuss this:

Basically, yes. The separator color is appearing as a cyan, when I had it as blank... like so: separatorcolor="";

To remove it, I had to change the ...

There are quite a few other items in your HTML that W3C is complaining about. Run the page through http://validator.w3.org/.

Sure thing. Good suggestions.

However, in the meantime, I have been playing with it a bit.

Right now, it seems strange to me that I have the bgimage defined, and it ...

Upgrade to latest RC changed my menu

Hey all,

Can anyone tell me why each time I upgrade to the latest menu version, but I use the same menu_data.js file, my menu coloring and bgimage options change?

I am sure I am doing something wrong, I just don't know what it is.

Menu on bottom of page where subitems open upwards

Hey all,

I have searched the forum posts, but I wasn't able to find much on this topic..probably poor search terms. :)

I want to know if it is possible to have menu items in a horizontal menu appear above the menu, rather than below. For example, if I had a menu on the bottom of a page, I would ...

I don't know of a solution to your problem, (someone else might), but it seems like an odd thing to do.

If the subitem you want already open is so important, maybe it should just be always available on the main menu? Seems like an easy solution to me.

Ok, email sent, Andy.

I will check out the cache problem, too. But, when I open the zip file and look inside the src of milonic_src.js, it says RC 20, Build 11/7/03 13:30....so I thought I had the latest.

Thanks again,

Bonewalker

I have been having the same problem all day. I am logged in as the person who first applied for the license. I am told that I will receive the menu without the milonic link. I download menu_sample1. I open it up, it says RC 20. I install files correctly, yet, I still see the milonic link.

I really hate to be one of the 'free' loaders that complains, but I will gladly pay for the menu when I have occasion to use it for other sites, but for now, I am with an educational institution and I haven't convinced them yet to budget for the menu. :)

My only problem is that I cannot get the ...

I have done a very large menu (over 1700 items) using PHP. It isn't difficult really.

All you need to do is create a MySQL query that returns your data, then output it via php in the correct format for the menu to use. Then instead of menu_data.js, point your script to menu_data.php.

All goes ...

onMouseover a form element, menu disappears

Hey All,

I have a menu that uses forms. One of the form elements is a <select> box. Below that is a text box, then a submit button.

My problem is that whenever you click on the dropdown, and then move your mouse over one of the selections, the menu disappears, apparently thinking you have moused ...

I still cannot get the current code. I have logged in, been recognized, and still only get the sample menu with the extra Milonic link.

I have been licensed since well before Milonic went to this new system of placing the extra link in the trial menu downloads.

I really would like to upgrade from ...

However, I have to tell you that I still cannot download the latest version without the trial Milonic link.

I have emailed someone named Marty about this and not received a reply yet.

Can you help?

Hi Kevin,

Nope, no Java applets. In fact, nothing on the page but the menu and about a paragraph's worth of text.

That's what is odd about this. I didn't think Javascript supported Classes, but I could be wrong.

Different javascript error

Here's a new wrinkle: I get a javascript error that says 'Class not defined', and that is all.

I am using RC6, running on IE 6.0 in Win98SE.

I hope to upgrade to the latest RC soon, but I still cannot download anything but the trial version which contains the Milonic link.

This error I mentioned ...
